The Vatican Information Service is a news service, founded in the Holy See Press Office, that provides information about the Magisterium and the pastoral activities of the Holy Father and the Roman Curia. The service – which began in 1991 – transmits news from Monday through Friday throughout the year, except during the month of August. It is available in English, Italian, Spanish, and French.

Bexhill Beach Barbeque
St Mary Magdaene's Youth Club enjoyed a barbeque on the beach at Bexhill. About 13 boys from the Youth Club and 6 language student girls from France, Italy and Sweden met for burgers sauages, soft drinks and cakes and bisuits. After the barbeque a game of Rounders took place on the sand. The team with the girls were clear winners.

Year of the Priest
Pope Benedict XVI has called the whole Church to celebrate a Year for Priests beginning on 19th June 2009, the Feast of the Sacred HearHis purpose for this year is to encourage priests in their “striving for spiritual perfection on which, above all, the effectiveness of their ministry depends” and to highlight “the importance of the priest’s role and mission in the Church and in contemporary society”.To do this the Holy Father calls us to a renewed focus on the centrality of Christ in our lives and in the Church and that “brings with it the correct appreciation of the ministerial priesthood, without which there would be neither the Eucharist, nor even the mission nor the Church herself”..
